How to Safely Drive a Supercar on a Toll Road
Supercars - Fast vehicles like supercars are equipped with great power. So even when driving it is not like driving a car daily. Especially if you bring a supercar on the highway.
As explained by the President of Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI), Hanan Supangkat, driving a supercar on the highway really needs high concentration. Because high-speed supercars are very vulnerable with holes and bumpy conditions.
"The most important thing is to concentrate more on the level, right? If I drive a Ferrari on the highway, focus on the road holes. Because the supercar tire profile is thin," Hanan told reporters on the sidelines of the 2019 Trans Java Tour FOCI.
According to Hanan, with a very thin profile, supercar tires like Ferrari have the potential to break when they hit a hole at high speed. "For a car with a thick tire profile, it might be a problem," said Hanan.
In addition to the pit trap, which also needs to be considered is how to drive a supercar when passing a wet track. "If the wet track is not tight, it can cause aquaplaning. Moreover, the road is made of concrete. It must be more slippery if you get water," he said again.
For safety reasons, Hanan suggested lowering speed when driving supercars on wet roads. "If on a toll road the conditions are dry, maybe the average can be 140 km / hour. But if it's huja, it will be lowered to 120 km / h or 110 km / h so it will be more safety," he concluded.
